Former Congresswoman Jackie Speier was one of four recipients of the UCSF 2024 Medal. Regarding her selection to receive the award, UCSF states,
"We honor former Congresswoman Jackie Speier for her 40-year commitment to public service and steadfast advocacy for women, children, the LGBTQ community and the disenfranchised. She has dedicated her life to eliminating government corruption, protecting whistleblowers, addressing sexual assault in the military, and working to strengthen the national and economic security of the U.S."
Representative Speier received the medal at the 2024 UCSF Medal Celebration on September 4th, 2024 alongside Nobel laureate, Dr. Jennifer Doudna, President and CEO of California Health Care Foundation, Dr. Sandra Hernández, and former chair of the UCSF Board of Directors, William Oberndorf.
